"Between Scylla and Charybdis - Part Two"   Season 2, Episode 4
  Exodus +487

Althea, following the screams on the baseship, finds Dorian. When they touch, they are both drawn into a projection, something that should be impossible for the human. Finding themselves in a garden Althea has imagined for years, the two meet the inner Leoben who has visited Dorian for so long. Together, they realise that, ready or not, the revolution against Cylon authority must begin.

The leaders of the resistance meet. The CNP is to be disabled by linking old Centurion minds locally into the system to create interference; meanwhile, the Variants are to scramble the Centurion command network, though the effect will last for only a few minutes. The civilian vessels are told by embedded Variants to sabotage systems that could vent their atmosphere or overload their fusion drives.

The revolution begins. Aboard the baseship, Althea storms the torture chamber with a group of Cylon Renegades and Centurions and rescues Dorian. Together, they commandeer a flight of Heavy Raiders and make their way back to the Myriad. The CNP and Centurions are paralysed. The crew of the Myriad begins sabotaging the ship’s systems, purging the CNP and destroying any Cylons they can find. Stanton and a group of marines start fighting their way to CIC even as Corvallo and Timuc burn their way back aboard the Battlestar and distribute the FTL keys to be taken to the civilian ships.

But by this point, the Cylons have begun launching wings of Raiders to destroy the fleet and the Myriad itself has come under fire from the trio of baseships. The Centurions reactivate and a furious firefight begins for control of the ship’s corridors. The Charybdis comes about and begins launching Raptors and Heavy Raiders, but when these arrive at the civilian ships, they join the fight on the side of the Colonials.

The Cylon Scout Ship starts launching Foxbats carrying original Centurions to the Myriad and civilian vessels, bolstering the insurgent forces. Stanton’s marines take CIC and reactive the communications array to signal the civilian fleet to be ready; however, the Cylons intercept the message and dispatch Heavy Radiers with reinforcements. As the battle for the fleet rages, the Virgon Haulier is vented into space, with the loss of all hands.

Something within the Myriad seizes control of communications and broadcasts a signal; the attacking baseships power down and begin spinning out of control. Marines take the Battlestar’s FTL drive and begin spooling up, even as Corvallo races to CIC with the key. However, one baseship breaks free of whatever is crippling the others and signals the Myriad. Cavil threatens to destroy the civilian fleet and when Stanton refuses to surrender, launches nukes; but the Charybids jumps into the line of fire and takes the hits. One by one, the civilian ships start to spool up their jump drives, but in the pitched combat in space, both the Crazy Ace and the Cylon Scout Ship are destroyed. Even as the Cylons regain control of the remaining baseships and launch a barrage of nuclear weapons, the Battlestar Myriad and its rag-tag fleet jump to safety.

However, revolution is not done yet. As Stanton and the CIC officers struggle to regain control of their sabotaged ship, Jena Dorian and a group of marines seize command of the Myriad. Fighting breaks out all over the ship between those loyal to the Chief Engineer and those loyal to the Commander. Stephan Holtz informs Dorian that the Variants have seized a nuclear weapon and will detonate it if she doesn't return Command to Stanton. Dorian refuses and threatens to kill both Stanton and Althea Ward unless she is allowed to retain Command. The Variant backs down. Ward is handed over to the Variants and enters the Free Zone, while Stanton is taken to the brig. A group of Marines arrive to rescue him and retake Myriad, but Stanton orders his people to stand down and accept Dorian’s authority, in order to avoid further bloodshed. He takes refuge in the Free Zone belonging to the Cylons.

The insurrection on the Battlestar is mirrored in the civilian fleet, where Priam Teucer is shot on the Accretion Disc by members of his own crew, rising up in fury at the failure of their leaders. Even on the Hyperion, violence erupts as the civilian crew attacks the Cylons and Charybdis military who have just helped free them. Viktor Perseun intervenes and is held hostage; the rebels demand democratic elections for control of the entire fleet, to prevent the failures that led to capture by the Cylons. Their tenure on the bridge is short-lived as Holo Kraexus and loyalist crew members rescue Perseun. The Doctor, and, temporarily, Governor, nonetheless holds true to the promise he made to the rebels: there must be elections to choose new leadership for the fleet…
