Nicholai Crane was discovered to be a Cylon when a poisoning incident placed him in a position to attempt the murder of Commander Darius and Captain Furyk. Whilst being held in Myriad's brig, the air system was sabotaged and he suffocated. He resurrected on board a near by Basestar. He re-joined the Myriad and its fleet again with the Battlestar Charybdis.

At the age of 19 commenced diplomatic studies at the University of Delphi. Graduated at the age of 22. Obtained bachelor’s degree. Continued education and gained master’s degree in business negotiations at the age of 24.

Married to Anna Porter at the age of 21. I met her at the University. We realised quickly that we get along very well and consequently fell in love with each other. When we got married, Anna was already in the fourth month of pregnancy. Five months later she gave birth to a girl. We named her Abigail Gaia.

Calm and stable family life was balancing my career pursuits very well. I was still training to be a professional kickboxer end eventually won a title of the Champion of 12 Colonies at the age of 22. I was a 2nd dan blackbelt when I achieved the title. Thanks to that victory I was able to run a dojo in Delphi which gave me enough money to fund my master’s degree and not only support my family but live a quite good life.

After the graduation we moved back to Caprica. We had enough money to buy a flat. Thanks to good results at University I had no problems finding a job and was almost immediately recruited by Conmex, the company known for developing the core of Dradis. The company was accused of selling parts of the software to a terrorist organisation actively opposing the armistice with the Cylon. I successfully dealt with press and the whole allegations were quickly forgotten. The case prolonged slightly and I missed the flight to a Caprican resort where I was supposed to spend holidays with my wife and my little girl. I told my wife to get there and that I would join them soon. Their transport crashed and both of them died.

I resigned from Conmex as this seemed the best thing to do. Few weeks afterwards I got employed by Orica Technologies – company which bought Dradis and was manufacturing hull parts to Vipers and minor parts and systems to battlestars and other types of spacecraft.

[Orica Technologies was one of the Consortium of technology firms responsible for implementing the Command Navigation Program and thus had a vested interest in the resolution of the Tauron labour crisis. Crane was sent to negotiate when the Tauron civilian administration requested an impartial mediator.]
