Minutes from meeting of the Council of Eight – Exodus +201

Present: Cpt. Katsuga Morran, Cpt. Nicteus Phileman, Cpt. Priam Teucer, Cpt. Nestra Duvali, Cpt. Eddard Stanton, Acting Cpt. Catius Mallow, Nicholai Crane, Althea Ward, Cpt. Abel Zetes, Dr Ivor Nerius, Cpt. Krysten Furyk, Lieutenant Jena Dorian, Major Alexander Darius

1. Report from Lt Jena Dorian submitted re: status of fleet ships and FTL drives. All ships in fairly good order – all FTLs functioning. Lt. Dorian advised against continuous jumps.

2. It was agreed in principle that the captured Cylon Foxbat would be taken to the Myriad for study, but that it would remain the property of the civilian Council of Eight; no timetable for the research was agreed.

3. Major Darius was promoted to full Commander by a vote of 6-1-1 [for-against-abstain].

4. Dr Nerius reported to the Council that the status of the fleet’s population was such that 2 epidemic level events could wipe out the entire fleet. Towards reducing the chances of that occurrence, Dr Nerius suggested that civilian medical workers be brought aboard the Myriad to work on the production of meds. Cmmdr. Darius agreed that this was essential and ordered Cpt. Zetes to make arrangements for this to take place at once.

5. It was agreed by a 7-1-0 vote that Nestra Duvali and Althea Ward would share the role of Captain aboard the newly constructed Helios Refinery. Ms Ward would remain in control of the working population of the crew, with Miss Duvali running the physical motion of the ship and matters related to navigation.

6. The issue of a reconnaissance mission to scout out potential resources within/beyond the red line was raised, with no clear course of action being decided upon. The military and civilian authorities each planned their own mission.

7. The Council was shown a news video by Mr Crane. It purported to contain footage of the Myriad’s encounter with the Cylons. The source was identified as being the civilian press authority: the Associated Free Press. No formal motion was presented, but Cmmdr. Darius promised to ‘look into’ the leak and to speak to AFP representatives.
